Johnson is a big reason the Catamounts are off to their best season ever at 8-0. Panther Creek will travel to take on Middle Creek in one of the top games in North Carolina this week. "The team is working hard each and every week to get better," stated Johnson. Isaiah excels on all sides of the ball. As a receiver, he has caught 25 passes for 313 yards with 5 touchdowns. On the defensive side, he has 23 tackles with 5 interceptions. Two of those interceptions have been returned for scores. Finally, he makes his presence known on special teams as he has returned 17 punts for 263 yards.
Last week, Johnson took in the Southern Methodist-Navy game in Annapolis. He had these comments to say about his visit. "I was really impressed with what they had to offer. Coach Buddy Green, the Naval Academy Defensive Coordinator, was very interested in me. He told me that I was a scholarship guy and that they wanted to offer me." When asked about the campus, Johnson said, "They have really nice facilities and I had a fun time meeting the coaching staff and former players. I went through the campus thinking this could be the place for me."
Johnson spoke highly of the other two schools in pursuit of his services. "When I took my visit to Wingate it was really special because they were the first school to offer me. They told me that I was the first player that they had offered in the class of 2011. The Wingate staff treated me well and the community atmosphere was calming. Liberty came to my school and talked to me. I plan on taking a visit in November." said Johnson.
