Three committed prospects from the state of Florida will be in Columbus this weekend on official visits. One of those prospects is Homestead (Fla.) wide receiver Herb Waters. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect issued a verbal commitment to Miami (FL) back in July but has decided to take some official visits over the next couple of months.

"(Ohio State) is a good school and a good program and everything," said Waters on his decision to make the visit. "I like the program up there. I'm committed to Miami (FL) but I'm keeping my options open."

Wide receivers coach Stan Drayton has taken the lead in Waters' recruitment and the two have been speaking regularly over the last several weeks.

"I've been talking to coach (Stan) Drayton," he said. "He's just been giving information on how the team is and how they run their offense and their style."

While Waters in Columbus he will no doubt be paying close attention to the atmosphere in Ohio Stadium, but the academics side of things will be at the forefront.

"I want to look at the criminal justice program," he said. "That's what I look for in every school because that is going to determine where I go. I want to go to the best criminal justice program that I can."

Waters has two more official visits scheduled in addition to Ohio State and says he hopes to take two more at some point between now and National Signing Day.

"On January 20th I have an official visit to Vanderbilt and on December 2nd I have one to Miami (FL)," he said. "I plan on taking my other two official visits. I know UCF might get one of (the visits), so that is one and hopefully North Carolina. I'm going to make my decision on Signing Day."

Waters added that in addition to the above schools, he is also considering Alabama and LSU.
